Marshall Mcluhan's "The Medium" speaks to the idea that everyday life is full of filters, and only by removing those filters can we move towards an unbiased perception of the world. I created an interpretive book based on this concept. I layered multiple sheets of colored tissue paper with significant words cut out over a light source, photographed them, and combined them with other pieces of text. As the book progresses, layers of tissue paper are removed, thus removing the filters and bringing the viewer towards the light.
